 Wheelhouse Medallion PROJECT
by Anna Maria Horner

“First it has to be beautiful, then the rest is a pleasure.”
                                                                                 Anna Maria Horner

This new collection of fabrics from Anna Maria, Hindsight, is just that, a true pleasure.

In keeping with the design philosophy of us here at A Different Box of Crayons we will bring you the program as outlined …but of course strive to add it through demos, a group Facebook page dedicated and accessible only to the membership,  our interpretation of the patterns, expanded textile options and some of our own ideas on how to best use the extra fabric resulting from the extreme fussy cutting of this project. Your SWAG BAG, included in your membership, will contain a Free Spirit reusable shopping bag, an Anna Maria Wheelhouse Medallion Club ready-to-embellish quilt label, an Anna Maria embellishment guide and a set of 6 heat resistant templates for use in the quilt construction. Kits and instructions for the quilt top, which finishes at 80” x 80”, will be distributed monthly, as designed, augmented with hands on recorded demos by our Sue Henderson.  Each month we will walk you through the base instructions as well as our insights into the techniques. This demo will be posted on the Group Facebook Page ADBOC Wheelhouse Medallion Club 2020. If you are a member of our club group you should click on the link here, or go to the page, and ask for access to the page. If you are a member, Sue or I will approve you and you will have opened an important portal to information unique to our group and accessible only to the membership.

Our club offering is for 6 months, not 5 as presented by Free Spirit. It is our intent to expand on the base program and offer you some additional options, insights and ideas along the way.

When joining the Wheelhouse Medallion Club Program, you accepted that the credit card recorded (and held safe) by A Different Box of Crayons will initially be used for billing a non-refundable membership fee of $45.00 AND the last month’s program charge. Once a month, beginning in June 2020 and ending in November 2020 this card will be charged $47.00 + shipping, as it applies. The last month’s charge, November, will be only for shipping and authorized add on sales, as it was prepaid at the time of signup. This membership is for 6 months, the duration of the program, and by signing up you accept that any failure to follow the program through its’ duration may result in penalty charges. Any additional charges, such as add on sales must be authorized by you prior to billing or shipment. As of this writing, May 2020, our membership is full but it is never a bad idea to contact the shop and ask to be waitlisted. You just never know what may happen.

This project is well underway and it is time to consider BACKING! CLICK on this link to access the special offer for Wheelhouse Medallion Quilt members ONLY.

Have you ever thought of just letting a project grow literally,  from one component to the next by just letting IT go where IT wanted to go. No plan just a start and adapt on the fly. Experiment, try, overlap, combine....that's what Cre-8-A-thon is all about.

This small exercise in allowing yourself space to just create partially started because of the onset of Covid 19. I had begun the project as my own therapy; an exercise in permission to play. Long before this had even begun, I had ordered the amazing L'oiseau Embroidery Panel from Material Obsession in Australia. They showed up just as we were starting to close due to the virus. I knew how much enjoyment I had taken from just playing so I decided to offer it to you, our customers, as a Covid distraction and also as a challenge. Let's see what YOU can build. Now, on two Wednesdays a month, at 11AM CST, I go LIVE on either our Facebook Group Page, Cre-8-A-thon or our home page, A Different Box of Crayons. Here I  share the progress and methods that I have used to build my project. Visit with me there. You can view all the videos to date and get insights into new "crayons" that you can apply to any project! It's about building a tool box of color, ideas and techniques. It's also about being inspired and having some fun along the way.  Join US! The content is free, the inspiration...priceless.
